The new M4 Pro and M4 Max machines come with a minimum of 24GB of unified memory as standard. That’s up from 18GB in the previous model. Both models have three Thunderbolt 5 ports. The latest Thunderbolt specification offers speeds of up to 120GB/s with Bandwidth Boost. That’s three times the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4.

The new standard also features support for native DisplayPort 2.1 output, which is available over USB-C. Thunderbolt 5 is fully compatible with USB4 and supports the latest protocols such as PCIe 4.0. Which allows for faster data access speeds for storage devices and peripherals.

Apple said that the M4 Pro has 14 CPU cores, 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores. Apart from this, there is a 20-core GPU which is twice as powerful as the M4. With the M4 Pro, the new MacBook Pro delivers 75% more memory bandwidth than the previous generation. Apple claims that the latest MacBook Pro, with the M4 Pro, is three times faster than the predecessor model of the M1 Pro.

The M4 Max model has a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, more than half a terabyte per second of integrated memory bandwidth, and a neural engine that is up to 3 times faster than the M1 Max. Apple said the MacBook Pro with M4 Max delivers 3.5 times more performance than the M1 Max. The M4 Max supports up to 128GB of integrated memory.

There is a Liquid Retina XDR display that delivers up to 1000 nits of brightness for SDR content. Which is in all models, this is an all-new nano-texture display. There is also a new 12MP Center Stage camera. Which Apple says gives better video quality in hard-lit areas. The new camera also supports Desk View. Which shows your face and what is under the desk. On the 14-inch MacBook Pro, both the M4 Pro and M4 Max models offer 22 hours of battery life. While the M4 Max gives 18 hours of battery life. In the 16-inch MacBook Pro, the M4 Pro gives 24 hours of battery life. While the M4 Max gives 21 hours of battery life.
